The H3-VR is a 360° ambisonic audio recorder designed for VR and immersive content, 360 video production, spatial audio capture for headset delivery, and any project where the soundfield needs to rotate with the viewer rather than sit in fixed stereo.

Its four-capsule ambisonic microphone array captures sound from every direction at once. Rather than committing to a stereo image on set, you record the whole soundfield and decide orientation in post — which is exactly what 360 video requires, because the viewer chooses where to look and the audio has to follow. Paired with a 360 camera like our GoPro MAX2, it completes the immersive capture package.

The recorder handles format conversion internally. It outputs ambisonic B-format for full spatial post-production workflows, binaural for immediate headphone playback, and conventional stereo when a project simply needs good room sound. That flexibility means the same recording serves a VR deliverable and a flat cut without a separate session.

A built-in motion sensor detects the units orientation and corrects the soundfield automatically, so mounting it upright on a stand, inverted under a 360 rig, or on its side does not scramble the spatial image. Auto level handles unpredictable sources, it records to microSD, and it runs on two AA batteries.
