Shooting with the ARRI AMIRA
The AMIRA is built around a documentary shooter's ergonomics — shoulder-ready, fast to configure, and designed to be operated by one person for a long day without a full camera department. It carries the same sensor and colour science as the ALEXA Mini, so the image cuts together with the rest of the ARRI line, but the body is laid out for people who need to keep rolling rather than rebuild between setups. We send it out on documentary, live event, broadcast and interview work constantly.
If you are shooting interviews or events where you cannot stop to swap batteries and cards, plan the media and power package properly — that is usually what determines whether a long day goes smoothly.

Is the AMIRA a good documentary camera?
It is one of the best. The whole body is designed around single-operator shoulder work with fast access to the controls you actually change mid-take, and it gives you ARRI colour without a full camera team.
Does AMIRA footage cut with ALEXA footage?
Yes — it shares the sensor and colour science with the ALEXA line, which is why productions frequently run it as a B or C camera alongside them.
Can I rent the AMIRA with audio gear?
Yes. We carry Sennheiser, Schoeps, Lectrosonics and Zoom in Burbank, and documentary crews usually rent the audio package alongside the body. We will quote it together.
