Shooting with the Canon 5D Mark IV
The 5D Mark IV remains a sensible booking for hybrid jobs where you need stills and video from one body. A 30.4MP full-frame sensor, dependable Dual Pixel autofocus and the whole EF lens ecosystem make it a practical choice for corporate work, documentary, and shoots where a photographer and a videographer are the same person. It is not a cinema camera and does not pretend to be, but for the jobs it suits it is hard to fault.
If the deliverable is primarily video, a C70 or FX6 will serve you better. If you genuinely need high-quality stills as well, this is the more efficient rental.
Canon 5D Mark IV Rental FAQs
Should I rent a 5D Mark IV or a cinema camera?
If you need serious stills alongside video, the 5D is the efficient choice — one body, one set of lenses. If video is the deliverable, a C70 or FX6 will give you a better image and better ergonomics for it.
What lenses work with it?
