K-Tek is the boom pole standard on professional sets, and this internally cabled model is designed for narrative production sound, documentary and interview booming, commercial and corporate shoots, and any production where a clean, quiet, cable-managed boom matters.
The defining feature is the internally coiled XLR cable. On an externally cabled pole, the mic cable runs down the outside of the tube where it can swing into frame, slap against the pole during a move, and transmit handling noise straight into the microphone. Running the cable inside the pole eliminates all three problems: the mic connects at the tip, the recorder connects at the handle, and there is nothing loose between them.
The pole collapses for transport and extends smoothly with locking sections that hold position under the weight of a shotgun mic in a full blimp. K-Tek builds these for daily professional use — the collars stay quiet, the sections do not creep during a take, and the balance stays predictable as you extend.
The tip accepts standard 3/8″-16 shock mounts, so it pairs with any of our shotgun microphones and windshield systems.
