Boom poles are simple tools, and what matters is weight, stiffness, and silence. This pole extends smoothly through telescoping sections with twist-lock collars that hold position under the weight of a shotgun microphone and shock mount, and — importantly — operate quietly. A pole that creaks while extending or clicks under load puts that sound directly into a microphone a few inches away, which is why cheap poles cost more than they save.

The aluminum construction keeps the weight manageable for handheld booming across a long interview, and the pole collapses to a length that transports easily in a standard equipment case or bag.

The tip uses the standard 3/8″-16 thread found on professional shock mounts, so it takes any of our shotgun microphones directly or through a blimp and suspension system for exterior work.
