Sennheiser AVX
Sennheiser AVX Digital Wireless System
Self-Configuring Digital Wireless – Powers up, finds a clear channel, and matches camera input level with no menus or frequency coordination
Plug-On XLR Receiver – The EKP receiver plugs straight into a camera or mixer XLR input and runs on its phantom power
Bodypack and Handheld Transmitters – Lavalier bodypack for hidden dialog plus a handheld for interviews, presenters, and man-on-the-street
About the Sennheiser AVX Digital Wireless System:
Rent the Sennheiser AVX digital wireless system in Los Angeles from F22 Studios. AVX is built for video crews rather than for sound departments, designed for documentary and corporate interviews, event and conference coverage, ENG and news, run-and-gun single-operator work, and any shoot where the audio has to be right in the first sixty seconds without a mixer babysitting it.
The reason AVX earns its place in a run-and-gun kit is that it configures itself. Power the transmitter and receiver on and the system finds a clear channel in the license-free 1.9GHz band on its own, then matches its output to the camera input sensitivity without manual gain-matching. There is no frequency coordination, no scanning, and no group-and-channel table to consult — useful in convention centers, downtown locations, and other RF-crowded environments where a UHF system would need a proper scan.
The EKP plug-on receiver is the other half of that thinking. It plugs directly into an XLR input on a camera, mixer, or field recorder, draws phantom power from that input rather than needing its own batteries, and switches on and off with the camera. On a shoulder rig or a cinema body it disappears into the back of the camera instead of occupying a receiver slot or a bag channel.
Our AVX package covers both common shooting situations. The bodypack transmitter takes a lavalier for hidden dialog on an interview subject or presenter, and the handheld transmitter puts an AVX capsule in a reporter or host hand for interviews, sponsor reads, and man-on-the-street segments. Both talk to the same receiver, so switching between a wired-down subject and a roving interviewer is a matter of powering up the other transmitter.
Practical use cases include corporate and documentary interviews, conference and event coverage, ENG and news packages, wedding and ceremony audio, real-estate and product walkthroughs, and any production where a small crew needs reliable wireless without an audio operator. For scripted work, heavy channel counts, or long-range RF, our Lectrosonics LR/LT and Sennheiser ew100 systems are the better tool. Available now for rental at F22 Studios in Burbank, serving productions across greater Los Angeles.
