The G4 is the fourth generation of the wireless package that has been standard issue on documentary, ENG, corporate, and event crews for two decades, designed for interview dialog, presenter and panel audio, run-and-gun news gathering, and any production that needs dependable UHF wireless with real frequency agility.
Our package covers all three roles. The SK 100 G4 bodypack transmitter clips to a subject and takes a lavalier for hidden dialog. The EK 100 G4 camera receiver mounts to a camera shoe or drops into a bag and feeds a camera, mixer, or recorder over XLR. The SKP 100 G4 plug-on transmitter is the flexible one — plug it onto the XLR of a handheld reporter mic or a shotgun and that wired mic becomes wireless, with phantom power available for condenser mics that need it.
The practical advantage over license-free digital systems is frequency agility. G4 offers 42 MHz of tuning bandwidth across 20 banks with up to 12 compatible presets per bank, plus an automatic scan that surveys the spectrum and finds clear frequencies. In a hotel ballroom, a convention center, or a downtown location with heavy RF traffic, that scan is the difference between clean audio and an afternoon of dropouts. Sennheiser transmitters and receivers also sync over infrared, so a scanned frequency transfers to the transmitter without typing it in.
