Rent the Aputure Quick Dome 60 in Los Angeles from F22 Studios. The Quick Dome 60 is a 60cm (2ft) circular Bowens-S mount softbox, designed for tight-quarter interviews, portrait and beauty work, tabletop and product photography, podcast setups, and any location where a 90cm softbox would be too large to place cleanly. It’s the little brother to the Quick Dome 90 with the same quick-release engineering in a smaller, more portable footprint.
At 60cm across, the Quick Dome 60 delivers a compact soft source with the falloff characteristics of a deep parabolic rather than the broader spread of a shallow softbox. That means it’s the right size for portrait and interview key lights when the subject is 3-6 feet from the lens, for tabletop and product photography where you want soft light with directional control, and for narrative work in small locations where a larger softbox would either dominate the frame or hit walls before hitting the subject.
The engineered quick-release latch mechanism on the speed ring tensions the steel support rods within seconds — single-operator setup with no fighting with rods and canvas. That speed is a real difference-maker when you’re moving between setups and want to keep the crew’s energy up, or when a small commercial or podcast crew doesn’t have a dedicated grip on hand. The reflective silver interior delivers uniform, controllable soft light without the central hotspot common to cheaper modifiers.
The kit ships with front diffusion, an inner baffle for additional smoothing, and a 40° fabric light control grid that lets you direct the soft light and prevent spill onto backgrounds or unwanted areas. The whole assembly folds down flat and stores in the included carrying bag. It mounts directly to any Bowens-S fixture in our inventory: STORM 400x, STORM 700x, LS 300x, and any of our other Bowens-mount LED, HMI, or tungsten lights.
