The PVM-1741A is Sony’s third-generation 17″ TRIMASTER EL OLED production monitor, designed for on-set video village, DIT stations, dailies review, edit suite reference monitoring, and any professional production that values a proven, road-tested color-critical reference display.
The Super Top Emission OLED display panel with TRIMASTER EL technology delivers superb black performance, wide color gamut coverage, and quick response with virtually no motion blur. Each pixel switches fully off in dark image areas, producing true blacks that LCDs cannot match — the difference between a night scene that reads as “night” versus one that reads as “dark gray.” The 16.5″ diagonal panel runs at native 1920×1080 with a full RGB 10-bit driver, delivering the color depth necessary for making real grading decisions on set.
The third-generation OLED design brings major improvements in off-axis viewing performance that almost completely eliminate any shading or off-axis color shift — important when three or four people are gathered around a single monitor at video village. Typical viewing angles are 89°/89°/89°/89° (contrast greater than 10:1), and color shift with viewing angle has been reduced to less than 50% compared to conventional OLED panels. That means the director’s chair, the DP’s monitor, and the client bay all see the same image.
Input options cover professional production needs: two 3G/HD/SD-SDI inputs, HDMI, and composite. Color gamut specifications include full coverage of ITU-R BT.709, EBU, and SMPTE-C broadcast standards, so the PVM-1741A is a true reference monitor for any SDR delivery pipeline — broadcast television, streaming, theatrical, and commercial finishing all render as intended.
