Rent the Aputure amaran F22c in Los Angeles from F22 Studios. The F22c is a 2’x2′ ultra-lightweight flexible RGBWW LED mat, designed for beauty and portrait work, interview key lights in tight spaces, ceiling-mounted overhead sources, vehicle interiors, hidden practical lighting, and any location where a rigid softbox is too bulky to rig cleanly. Because it folds flat and weighs only a few pounds, it goes places traditional soft sources cannot.
Output is genuinely usable as a key light: 200W of RGBWW output producing 6,420+ lux at 1 meter (5600K). That’s enough to punch through the included softbox and grid for a controlled soft key at typical interview distance, or bounce off ceilings and walls for large ambient fill. Stepless 0-100% dimming keeps low-light work flicker-free at any camera frame rate, and CRI 95+ / TLCI 97+ scores mean skin tones stay natural under mixed sources without color-correction gymnastics in post.
Because the F22c is a full RGBWW fixture rather than a bi-color panel, it delivers 360° HSI color control alongside its adjustable 2,500K to 7,500K CCT range. That means you can dial in any color for practicals, match neon signage on location, or run through the 46 built-in color gel presets to match standard theatrical gels without pulling gel from stock. The 15 built-in lighting FX — fire, TV, cop car, lightning, pulsing, faulty bulb, and more — cover the most common practical effects without programming DMX from scratch.
The mat’s foldable X-frame accessory stretches the panel taut for use as a rigid panel, giving you the option of pancaking it against a surface for hidden lighting or standing it up on a C-stand for a traditional soft key. The included foldable softbox with two strengths of diffusion and matching grid transforms the panel into a soft, controllable key light without adding significant weight or setup time. The control box features a V-mount plate accepting 14.4V, 26V, or 28.8V batteries for remote and battery-powered work, and full DMX control is available via Aputure’s USB-C to 5-pin DMX adapter.
The F22c integrates with the Sidus Link app for remote control across the whole Aputure ecosystem, so it plays cleanly with our STORM series and LS 300x fixtures on multi-light setups. Available now for rental at F22 Studios in Burbank, serving productions across greater Los Angeles.
