The DR-10L is a compact body-worn recorder with an included lavalier microphone, designed for documentary and reality subjects, multi-person interviews and panels, wedding and event dialog, and any shoot where recording at the source beats fighting for RF.
The appeal is reliability through simplicity. Instead of transmitting to a receiver, the DR-10L records the lavalier straight to a microSD card on the subject. There is no frequency coordination, nothing to scan, and no dropout when the subject walks behind a wall or out of range. On a shoot with more speakers than wireless channels, a handful of DR-10Ls is the fastest way to get every voice on its own clean track.
Its dual recording mode captures a simultaneous backup file at a lower level. When a soft-spoken interviewee suddenly laughs, or a wedding officiant is drowned out by applause, the safety file preserves the moment. That single feature has rescued more unrepeatable audio than almost any other on a location recorder.
Operation is intentionally minimal — record, stop, and a clear level display — so you can hand one to a subject, a presenter, or a production assistant with a ten-second explanation. It runs on a single AAA battery for roughly ten hours, clips to a belt or hides in wardrobe, and the included lavalier is discreet enough for on-camera wear.
