Canon CN-E primes are the natural glass for anyone shooting on a Canon C-series body, and they behave like proper cine lenses rather than adapted stills glass — a stepless manual iris, a long 300-degree focus throw that gives your AC room to work, and an 11-blade diaphragm that keeps out-of-focus areas smooth. They are a sensible, unfussy set for narrative and commercial work, particularly when the rest of your package is Canon.
The long focus throw is a real advantage for precise pulls, but it also means these are not the set for grab-and-go handheld work where you are focusing by hand.
