Shooting with the Sony FX6
The FX6 is the camera we suggest when the job needs full-frame image quality in a body small enough to disappear. Its dual base ISO makes it strong in low light, and its size makes it comfortable on a gimbal, in a car, or handheld for a long day. Documentary, branded content, interviews and event work is where it shines, and it pairs well as a B-camera to an FX9 or BURANO.
It is small, which means rigging matters — monitoring, power and audio all have to be planned rather than assumed. We will spec that with you.
Sony FX6 Rental FAQs
Is the FX6 good for gimbal work?
Yes, its size and weight are a large part of the appeal. Book the gimbal with it so we can confirm the whole build balances.
Does the FX6 match the FX9 in post?
They are frequently run together as A and B cameras. We can advise on matching settings when you book both.
How is it in low light?
Strong — the dual base ISO design is one of the main reasons crews choose it for night and available-light work.
