About This IB/E PLx2 Extender:
The IB/E Optics PLx2 Extender is a precision 2x focal-length multiplier built for professional cinema production. Designed and manufactured in Germany by IB/E Optics — the team behind the Raptor macro lenses and a long line of custom cine optics — the PLx2 turns a single PL-mount lens into two, letting you double the reach of your favorite cine zoom or prime without swapping glass on set.
With native PL mounts on both ends, the PLx2 drops cleanly between your camera and lens, costs roughly two stops of light, and is engineered to preserve image circle on today’s large-format sensors. It’s especially useful with telephoto cine zooms when you need extra reach for wildlife, sports, or hard-to-access locations — and with prime sets when you want to extend your focal range without carrying a second body.
The IB/E PLx2 pairs perfectly with PL-mount cinema cameras like the ARRI ALEXA Mini, RED V-Raptor, and Sony VENICE, and works seamlessly with LPL-mount bodies like the ARRI ALEXA Mini LF and ALEXA 35 when combined with our PL-to-LPL adapter.
