Shooting with the Sigma Cine High Speed Zooms
The 18-35mm and 50-100mm Sigma cine zooms are a rightly popular pairing because they behave like fast primes that happen to zoom. A constant T2 across both is unusually quick for zooms, and the pair covers 18 to 100mm on Super 35 — enough for most of a shoot day without changing glass. For independent narrative and commercial work they offer a lot of capability for the rate.
They cover Super 35 rather than full frame, so if you are shooting large format let us know and we will suggest an alternative.
Sigma Cine High Speed Zooms Rental FAQs
Why choose these over a prime set?
Speed of work. At a constant T2 you get near-prime speed with the flexibility to reframe without swapping lenses, which on a tight schedule is worth a great deal.
Do they cover full frame?
No — these are Super 35 with a 28.4mm image circle. For full-frame coverage, look at the Canon Flex Zooms or the Angénieux EZ series.
