Shooting with the Angénieux EZ-1 EZ-2
The EZ-1 and EZ-2 are unusually flexible cine zooms because the rear elements are interchangeable — one lens covers Super 35 or full frame depending on the back fitted. Between them you get 22-60mm and 45-135mm in full-frame configuration, which is a practical two-lens package for a whole production. Angénieux rendering is warm and well regarded, and for productions that may switch sensor formats mid-project the modularity is genuinely valuable.

How does the interchangeable back work?
Each lens takes a different rear element depending on whether you are covering Super 35 or full frame, which changes both the coverage and the focal range. We fit the right one before it ships.
Are two zooms enough for a production?
For a great many shoots, yes — 22 to 135mm covers most of what a narrative or commercial needs, and it is far faster to work with than a full prime set.
